Our Mission
Lawyer On A Leash is THE place to find timely and unbiased information about how to hire and work with a lawyer. Our founder, Gideon Grunfeld, is a fourth generation lawyer. But unlike so much of the about information about lawyers that appears on law firm Web sites, this site is not a backdoor effort to convince you to hire Gideon. In fact, you could not hire Gideon as your lawyer even if you wanted to. Instead, this is the place to find out insider secrets about lawyers-how they are trained, what they tend to be good and bad at, how to get your money's worth when you hire one, and how to protect yourself when things go wrong between you and your lawyer.
Lawyer On A Leash was created because it can be surprisingly complicated to hire the right lawyer, and because so much of the information that is out there is outdated and overly simplistic. Many lawyers will not be happy with the behind-the-scenes information we share, but this not about bashing lawyers. We believe in having fun and presenting information about lawyers in a casual, informative and straightforward way. We will even share a good lawyers' joke from time to time. Ultimately however, we know that lawyers are generally hired when something really important has just happened or is about to happen in your life. Whether you were just injured in an accident or are looking for the right attorney to help your business grow, too few people have the information they need to make an essential decision: who should be their lawyer?
Lawyer On A Leash is also premised on the idea that the attorney/client relationship works best when the client is in control. Like a powerful large dog that is physically stronger than its owner, a lawyer may be more powerful than their client. The legal system works best when the client knows a lot about the lawyer, and can keep the lawyer on a leash. Our mission is to help you do just that.
Gideon Grunfeld J.D. is a fourth generation lawyer, but don't hold that against him. He started Lawyer On A Leash to help business owners and families hire, work with, and control their lawyers. Gideon started his career as an HR Executive and business consultant. He then worked as a lawyer for almost ten years, representing some of the biggest corporrations in the world.
