Gideon Grunfeld is a fourth generation lawyer. His mother is a lawyer. His brother is a lawyer. His sister-in-law is a lawyer. You get the picture; it's practically a genetic defect.

Gideon started his career in the human resources field. After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Economics, Gideon worked as a consultant at National Economic Resource Associates, and was a human resources manager for both a Fortune 500 company, ADP, and a 5,000-employee teaching hospital in Philadelphia.

Gideon started his legal career in San Francisco. He is a cum laude graduate of the University of California, Hastings College of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and an Assistant Articles Editor of the Hastings Law Journal. Following graduation, he clerked for U.S. District Court Judge Gary L. Taylor in Southern California.

For almost ten years, Gideon worked for some of the largest and most profitable law firms in the world-first at the Los Angeles office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, and then at Covington & Burling in Washington D.C. He represented clients such as Exxon, Deere & Co, Pepsi, Sunbeam, and Ralph Lauren, and trade associations such as the American Chemistry Council.

In 2004, he left the practice of law to start his own consulting firm, Law Firm Development, which helps lawyers run their practices more effectively. He is also one of the authors of the treatise, "The California Guide To Opening And Managing A Law Practice," which was published by the State Bar of California in 2009. In short, Gideon knows lawyers; how they think, how they work, what they are good at and what they are not.

Gideon speaks extensively about lawyers and how they work with clients. He has been a member of the National Speakers Association since 2005, and is currently the president of its Greater Los Angeles Chapter.

Gideon is on a mission-to help non-lawyers and lawyers work together more effectively, more productively, and more economically. This won't happen until the people who hire and work with lawyers become better educated about lawyers. That is why he developed Lawyer On A Leash-THE place for you to get insider information about how to hire, work with, and control your lawyer.
